

Fresh from their TV debut on Channel 4’s Secret Millionaire, MaD Theatre Company will be taking Manchester back to the 60’s this November with their new play, Gin and Chronic Arthritis. After recent sell out shows at Chorlton Arts Festival and Bury Met, 3 Minute Theatre and the Lass O Gowrie in Manchester MaD will be bringing their brand of Northern inspired humour to the the Kings Arms, Salford before heading out on a national tour, taking in venues from London to Blackpool.
Gin and Chronic Arthritis focuses on the complicated romances in the Pickle’s family home, all triggered when Wheelchair Barry takes Nanna Pickles on a date to a psychic supper and is contacted by a lover from long ago, making Wheelchair Barry jealous of the fella from the other side.
MaD Theatre Company are a cutting edge theatre company who have written and produced over 50 original shows, each containing their unique take on Northern humour and Mike Leigh-esque acting techniques. They have been producing work in and around Greater Manchester for over 12 years and were recently awarded £10,000 on The Secret Millionaire which has been put towards a professional lighting rig and an all-expenses paid trip to London for the whole company.
